Renown Montreal song festival Coup de cœur francophone and critically-acclaimed children’s publishing house La Montagne secrete have joined forces to produce Tam Ti Delam, a tribute to several well-known French-language Canadian songwriters.
The project, which marks the 150th year of Confederation, supported by the Government of Canada, invites children to take part in an enlightening journey into the magical musical world La Bolduc, Félix Leclerc, Gilles Vigneault, Claude Léveillée, Lionel Daunais, Alan Mills and Joseph Beaulieu.
The two‐part initiative, in collaboration with Unis TV, encourages children aged 5 to 9 to discover, document, and share our musical roots.
A national tour of 31 performances in 20 cities from coast to coast to coast featuring singers Geneviève Toupin and Annick Brémault accompanied by musicians Paul Campagne, Bill Gossage, Aleksi Campagne and Jean‐François De Bellefeuille will run from October 19 to December 17, 2017.
Also, this website with illustrations by Marie Lafrance offers support material for parents and teachers, providing streaming access to songs, lyrics, and songwriter biographies, along with five downloadable educational guides.
“The Tam Ti Delam national tour will offer young Canadians a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Canada 150 by discovering Canada’s rich French‐language musical heritage,” said the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage. “Come celebrate the vitality of the French language and the artists whose works make it shine.”
